Choose Your Character! Update Version - 0.6.0 AlphaUp

This game is called "CarSim"but only now, did I actually compile the scripts so that you could control a car.
This update is definetly the most exciting update so far with TONS of new features added. It took me two entire days! I added the feature so that you can choose which character you want to be:
The characters also have unique physics, such as speed and handling (the lower the handling number, the more slower the character turns)

"Characters" you can choose from in this update:

• A Lamborghini Reventon - Speed: 150 Handling: 6
• A Lamborghini Adventador - Speed: 80 Handling: 3
• A Minecraft Cow - Speed: 30 Handling: 5
• A Minecraft Creeper - Speed: 40 Handling 8

There are some extra characters right this moment but will be introduced in another update because they are buggy and may have some cooler physics

• A Minecraft Steve
• An Enderman
• A Squid (this squid will be able to fly)

• A Flying Minecraft Chicken
• Who Knows? You will just have to wait and see...

Features added to this update:

• Hardcore Mode was added - find out for yourself what it does
• Option to play in first person added
• I tried to add a smooth animation when the terrain renders/generates (will not work on slow PCs)
• Added my own personalised icon
• Added my own personalised splash image
• Flare when you look directly at a light

• Speed gradually increases to max speed

Nearly Beta!!!

Time has flew so fast from the time I started developing this game. After about alpha version 1.0, I may release a special update: Update Version: 0.1 Beta! This means I will release it on many platforms and my game will have to go through a beta test, this means that by that time, hopefully multi-player mode should have been added! Only four more updates to go!!

The Multi-Platform Update!

Yes! Finally, I have released the game on half of the platforms I keep telling you about. Read on below!

Some of these are not full versions, instead they are 'snapshots' that means they are still being worked on. They may not all work and there may be some problems. If there are any problems then please tell me in the comments section below.

A Brand New World! - Update version 0.4 Alpha

A brand new update after two days of interval, this is because I was not able to access my PC for two days, otherwise, I promise, this update would have been released sooner.

What's New?

• Minor bug fixes
• A brand new world! The world's name is 'Canyon' and (as you may have guessed) the terrain is my interpretation of  The Grand Canyon, Arizona, USA.
• All of the levels have new backgrounds, the Canyon level has a 'red hot sky' background, the menu has a cool dark background and the Hills level has a very sunny and bright background
• Added a new option in the menu (the canyon)

Information and interesting specs of the new world

• Level name: canyon

Things that you should know

The level 'canyon' is very detailed, and as you may imagine, it has quite a humongous drop. This means that if you have an older computer, there will be lag... a lot of lag. So if you want to play the canyon level, when the game starts up, do remember to change the graphics quality and screen resolution appropriately (AKA: change your graphics settings to 'fast')

Also, The background for the canyon level may mess up depending on which computer you are running the game on.

Hopefully all this lag and the background will be fixed in the next update.

The Menu Update - Vers. 0.3.0 Alpha

Another update! and finally these updates are being released as soon as they are made with no interval in between!

What's new?

• A super epic and awesome MENU SCREEN! Whoop whoop!

The menu screen is so cool. The options you can choose are in 3D and you can preview every single level. In the future, I aim to add different epic levels designed by me. I will add them in future updates!

What's coming up?

I am actually working on a android and iphone version of this game. To be released hopefully very soon, however it takes hours of coding. I may even release it on Nintendo Wii and Xbox, but that would take weeks of coding. Just wait and see

I will also be adding a feature to select which model car you would like to use.

So how do I play?

In previous versions, you had to download a plugin. That is no longer needed!

The Grand Mobile Release - Vers. 0.3.5 Alpha

What's new?

It is FINALLY out on mobile! It is available on android and i-devices! It is not on the appstore nor the playstore or the amazon store however, because it is right here! Why not just get it from the original website? (this is the original website)

I also tweaked the script added in version 0.3.0 Alpha and made it so that it is IMPOSSIBLE to get to the edge of the world no matter how many years you tried getting to there. The land is 100% Infinite! You may be thinking that so much terrain will surely cause it to lag, to which I answer - it will not lag as much as you think! It only generates 4 pieces of terrain (aka chunks) at a time, and as you move away from them, the degenerate and new ones nearer to you generate! It's foolproof!

How come it has gone from 0.3.0 all the way up to 0.3.5?

Producing this took a lot of hard work and a lot of time - and a lot of fails (there were more fails than this, these were only the main ones. It even went to 4 decimal places!) Here is a log of all of the fails on mobile:

0.3.1AlphaSnapshot: The terrain renders but camera cannot move

0.3.2AlphaSnapshot: The terrain renders but camera cannot move, this time you are looking at a different part of the terrain.

0.3.3AlphaSnapshot: The terrain renders and there are two joysticks on screen but moving the joysticks does not do anything and the camera does not move

0.3.4AlphaSnapshot: The terrain renders and there are two joysticks on screen but moving the joysticks makes the ball shoot off and it is very hard to control

0.3.5AlphaSnapshot: Jackpot! :-)

The Land Update - Vers. 0.2 alpha

Hooray, a new update to the game!

What's new?

• I have remade the entire terrain! It looks very mountainous/hilly now.
• I have added a new C# script that duplicates the terrain next to each other, therefore resulting in an almost infinitely big world to explore and drive in! (There is an edge of the world but it is very far away)
• I have made it not so that the game light follows the ball, but I made the light shine everywhere so now it is bright and summery.
• I have increased the FOV (field of view) so now you can see the scenery better and also you can see where you are going better.
• Minor bug fixes
• Slope limit changed to 100 degrees (harder to go up a hill)

Bugs?

There are no real bugs but I have changed it so that it is harder to get to the edge of the world (which is good). However, if you do fall off the edge of the world, you cannot respawn and you have to restart the game.

When you go off a mountain, you stay in the air for a long time rather than going down the other side of the mountain and then you glide down. This may be OK for a football but when I change it to a car later, a gliding car may seem a little bit unusual - maybe I could add the gliding car as an upgrade. Who knows?

The gliding was also there in the last update.

So how do I play it?

First of all, before you do anything, make sure you have got the unity3D plugin for your browser. It was not developed by me so I have to redirect you to their website: Redirect to Unity3D plugin download page

 Download and play!(don't worry no ads) No installation required, no Unity3D plugin required! All you have to do is run the .exe file. To exit the game when playing, do Ctrl + esc. You can also put the file anywhere you feel!

The Game Release!

It all started, not long ago when Abhinav Bhandari, decided that all 3D car simulators that he tried was not good enough, so, he thought to himself, "I shall create my own!"

Have you ever felt that all car simulators always have restrictions? A car parking simulator only let's you park the car, a car racing simulator only let's you race. Why can't you just.. drive? Why can't you just own your very own car on your mobile, computer, Xbox, Wii, Play Station and have no restrictions?

Well now you can

3D Car Sim vers. Alpha 0.1

First ever version of the game EVER. At the moment, there is a terrain generated manually by me. I used Unity3D game creator to make the really sweet graphics. 

The terrain is not that complete, it is sort of flat apart for some hills in the distance. I allowed the controls so that the 'car' could tilt 150 degrees, this means that you can literally, go right up a hill!

There are no real bugs. The only thing that may annoy you though, is that once you fall out of the world, you cannot respawn and you have to reload the game. I leave it like that because I am going to fix that in the next update (which is already out at the time that I wrote this) , go read the blog on that!

Unfortunately, you can only use it on your pc or mac at the moment. Will be coming to the app store, play store, xbox store, windows store, Wii e-shop, amazon store and windows store hopefully very soon.

So how do I play it?

First off all, before you do anything, make sure you have the Unity plugin installed. The unity plugin was not developed by me but it is required to play all of the other updates and this is no exception! This also means that I have to redirect you to their website, you can download it securely there. The link will be somewhat near the end of this blog, near another download link that you shall read about in the next paragraph.

Since this is the first every version you have to download it and you cannot play directly from the web. In the other updates you will be able to play directly from the web. I shall give you a download link (don't worry, no ads and stuff like that), you must extract both of the files in the .zip file to your desktop, click on the one that says 'game' and open it with any web browser.

How did you make it?

Only for this version of the game and the next version of the game, I shall show you how I made the game. But only for this version and the next update, the third update will not be shown. This is because there is a very high chance that you can copy the game and redistribute it. BTW it took a lot of hours, so the video is sped up.
